Puppy

The puppy is going well. It is much more at ease now and is more sociable, YAY. I was minding it the other night when everyone else was out, and it would not stay calm unless it was laying on my lap or some variation of siting on top of me. This habit is fine for the time being, however im scared that when it grows up to its full size (full grown Grate Dane ~60 KG) It siting on me might hurt a bit :-P

They puppy experience is all enjoyable, I'm also kind of glad that the new puppy has not made me get all that cut up about my old dog who died last year.

Last night I went out with my friends in to the city for some tea and drinks. After arriving in Rundle street, deciding we wanted to have tea over at Gouger street, walking over there and discovering that the restaurant we were intending on going to had been burnt down, walking over to another restaurant to discover it was being reinvited, we finally found some Italian restaurant (yay, after about 2 km of walking in the hot and humid conditions we were having we sat down at 9PM for tea)

Anyway, I think our waiter was new or something, he was hilariously incompetent but the good thing was he was bearable and entertaining, I could not stop laughing. He did things like suggesting soy sauce to one of my friends as a sauce to have on a stake, Wired! But funny in my book!

The kitchen staff were not all that together as well, they forgot my meal, so I had to wait for my meal while everyone else was eating, but they gave me a free drink for this, so due to the fact of the humidity, an empty stomach, being dehydrated, and the alcohol I was very cheery and did not really care! I think they were happy that I did not get cranky over their mistake, smiling instead :-P But it was a nice meal in the end and the restaurant had so many yummy food smells in it.

The rest of the night was cool, we were slightly disorganised but it was really nice to catch up with my friends again.

I have previously noted on my blog that subway are getting rid of their free sub stamp program. Well, whilst looking at the various signs in the subway store where I get lunch sometimes (like their warning that their satay products contains peanuts, All I have to say is that I’d hope satay products would contain peanuts) Anyway, I noticed a new sign stating that they are changing “THE SHAPE” of their cuts of meat. But they do not say if the SIZE of the cuts of meat will change, I suspect they are. (hmmm I just read that and thought about how pathetic I am :-P Ohwell, I'm me!

Anyhoo, I better get back to my uni work, I’ve got a big assignment that I have not progressed much into. More photos have been added to the Jackson Collection if you are interested.

Puppy

Hey,

Well, my family now have a puppy! My parents have been on planing on getting a puppy for a while now. I feel a little sad getting a new dog after my old dog died, but I guess I have to move on.

The puppy, Jackson, is a Grate Dane puppy, so although it is just above my lap when I sit down, it will soon grow up tall enough to put it’s front paws on my shoulders when I stand. (Not my choice of dog size, but it will all be good I guess) I’m thinking of having some progress shots of it size as it grows up against me :-P

It has been a little scared, it has lost it’s brothers and sisters which it has spent it’s complete life with, however it has me to torture it :-P Just kidding. However I have only been home for a small amount of time and it has spent most of its time sleeping :-| But what I have seen of him, he has been pretty good, nice to play with. He has a tendency to walk on an angle everywhere instead of walking strait ahead. Crazy!

I think I'm going to sleep as well, so tired.

But photos of the dog live here if you are interested. I'll write more when the dog and myself are less tired..

Ne-Wo update

WOW has it been hot!! So, what’s been happening in my life?

  • The air conditioning at my work now works, Which means I don’t have to get into a 35 degree office at 7am in the morning...
  • Yep that’s right, for some crazy reason I have been rocking up to work at 7 am in the morning.. Why do I do this.... The traffic is not all that bad early in the morning and is also not all that bad when I leave work early (cuts my hour long trip down to 30 minutes). The early starts also mean I’m so tired I can fall asleep within minutes instead of laying in bed stewing about things all night.
  • Work is going ok, I think the project I’m working on will be finished by the time I leave, will see I guess.
  • I have noticed over the last couple of weeks that subway are ending their stamp deal. Noooo!! Oh well, everyone out there with lots of stamps from doing the subway work run or those of you with heaps of counterfeit stamps (I wonder if that’s why they are ending it) use them now or never use them again..
  • After going over to my friends brothers house for drinks last night (I stayed sober for once) I discovered it is so nice driving through the hills between our houses at 3 am when it is 34 degrees (celsius) outside. Car windows down, wind blowing everywhere, the sound of endless dead gum leaves crackling underneath its wheels, its so calming.

Ohwell, that sums up ne-wo for now... Cheerio.

Cheerio Khun, Cheerio Gemma

What a weekend...

Saturday was spent with my friend Khun and her friends as she is leaving for Japan to work for one year. I went to a nice picnic with heaps and heaps of food in the Adelaide parklands. Unfortunately it rained a little, but it was not bad enough to spoil the atmosphere and event.

When it came to night time we headed down to Rundle street and had some drinks at the Belgium bar.. It will be sad to see Khun leave for such a long time, especially since Japan is so backward with communications (apparently its $600 for a licence for a phone). I hope she will enjoy it, I’d be more than happy for her to stay longer if she finds a job she enjoys!

Sunday was spent at my sisters weeding, I guess I should say My sisters and her husbands weeding :-P I had a nice time, the weather was very good, it was not hot, and it did not rain (There was thunder and lightning predicted). The only problem I guess was the flies, but they were not all that bad... However this has a good side, the flies enabled me to exercise my usual photography skills eg this photo. Dont worry, they had a profesional photographer, thats why I spent my time enjoying the weeding and not taking photos. (thats my excuse)

I managed to have a moderate amount of alcohol, what would you expect when you have a weeding at a winery? :-)

My sister looked really good, and she really enjoyed her day. I think the reality of the day really hit me when her husband was giving his speech and he called MY SISTER his “WIFE” :-D (to a great cheer, and deservedly so)

Amazingly my sister managed to get some sleep the night before, how amazing is that! I am so proud for her, I hope she has a very nice future with her new Husband, hehe, Husband it's fun saying that!

Anyhoo, the photos of both events can be found here

Cheerio.

I wish I had more time for this entry, but if I don’t rush it now, it will not happen... :-

No AC :-|

Howdy...

Yep im back at work...

I thought I’d that this opportunity to talk about work conditions. Currently the air conditioning in my work is not working, this is very uncomfortable in the 30 – 40 degree summer heat. Even when it’s a cold day in the 20s, it’s still hot in the building (hotter than outside actually) as the heat remains from the previous hot days. When I got into work at 7am this morning, I was sweeting as soon as I sat down at my desk.

This has got me thinking, how much more efficiently I would work in a comfortable office environment? I think my work rate would increase so much through having a comfortable chair and nice air temperature. Although thinking about this, as soon as I would get those, Id find something else to pick on about, like.........

On a lighter note, I’ve got a fullish weekend this weekend, I’m going out to for most of Saturday to say cheerio to a friend who’s leaving Australia and on Sunday I’m saying cheerio to my sister as she is getting married.

Not much else has happened recently, I guess I can mention that I managed to finish of my bottle of Chartreuse and have got stuck into my bottle of absinthe. I much prefer the chartreuse, although the absinthe is a nice cheer me up drink :-P

Anyhoo, have to go, much to do.. Yeah, you got me, I lie, I dont have much to do, I've just run out of things to say.

Subway Cookies V2

Some of my avid blog readers might remember my previous attempts to reproduce white chocolate chip macadamia nut subway cookies.

Well, tonight the saga continued, I had a couple of reasons to continue:

  • I have uni work to do, cooking seems the perfect opportunity to procrastinate

  • There have been many people looking at my subway cookie adventures on my blog

  • I was hungry and there was no good food around

  • I need something sensible to put on my blog once in a while

  • I had a pack of a Cadbury cookie mix in the kitchen that I have been meaning to use for over a month.

So, away I went and mixed all the ingredients. To my surprise:

  • The raw premix powder did not taste as bas as the powders usually do;

  • After adding the margarine and egg the mix was extremely greasy (sickly so).

So what did they turn out like, very average indeed, and slimily, This might be due to my cooking skills (I’ll say that to avoid a defamation lawsuit :-P), but I doubt that it was down to my cooking skills..

Cookies On Stove

Cookies Cooling

So, once again I have discovered the real Subway cookies are still cheaper and nicer that home made rip-offs.

Cheerio..

NYE 2005-6

Hmmm, what should I say about new years eve......

Well, I drank,
Mmmmm, Chartreuse, (55% alc.)

I had fun,
Ne-Wo is happy, But looks like a Tool :-|

I even manage to break some glow sticks into a bucket,
Glow Stick Broken in bucket

But the inevitable occurred, I had a rest, hey my friends put me into a nice safe position, thanks!
Thanks friends, thats a safe position!

Yeah, New Years Eve was quite good, I spend my time up with my friends up at Port Pirie. Unfortunately one of my friends had a rough day at work the morning of New Years Eve, so I was really happy to be up there with him.

We pretty much sat around socialising and drinking, (I started drinking heavily when I arrived at 5 pm). It was quiet fun, I enjoyed it allot, It was nice to get away from Adelaide and just relax.

Before I left, I managed to get a ride on a hovercraft owned by a college of one of my friends. That was pretty cool, except for getting wet, but I would do it again no questions asked..

Geeze, I don’t have much to say, my memory must be lost from the alcohol, oh well, I have almost polished of the chartreuse, need to go easy now.

Uni starts tomorrow (Wednesday) so the year has already begun. Do I have a new years resolution, No, I usually do not have one or if I do I do not take them seriously. Ohwell, have to prepare for tomorrows class, so I have to go.

Happy New Year Everyone!
